The Story of the Three Little Pigs

[CAT] Aquesta setmana, hem entrat en el món dels contes. És la primera vegada, que escoltem un conte en Anglès a la Mainada i per endinsar-nos més en la màgia d'aquesta història, hem convertit la classe en poble d'allò més agradable, cada nen i cada nena en un petit porquet i la mestra en un llop dolent amb les titelles que hem fet.

I així, la història ha estat del tot real, amb els personatges i sons d'aquest conte que tothom coneix: ELS TRES PORQUETS.

[ENG] This week, tales world appears in our English sessions. It is the first time, we listen to an English tale here in La Mainada. In order to create a magic atmosphere when the story is explained, we have turned the class into a nice town, every boy and girl into a little pig and the teacher into a bad wolf using the puppets we have made.

The story have been real, with the characters and sounds of this splendid tale which everybody know: THE THREE LITTLE PIGS

We love music!

[CAT] Tant als Menuts com als Súpers ens agrada molt la música: cantar i ballar cançons.

La nostra nova amiga, la Poma Vermella, la qual podeu conèixer al final del post, ho sap i per això, ens ha ensenyat una nova cançó sobre els 7 dies de la setmana. Amb la música de fons, diem els dies de la setmana en veu baixa, però també cridant, piquem de mans i fem servir els peus. És molt divertit!

[ENG] Menuts and Súpers love music: dancing and singing all songs. Our new friend, the Apple,  knows it, so it has taught us a new song in order to be able to learn the7 days of the week. While the music is sounding, we say the days of the week: whispering and shouting, clapping our hands and stomping. It is very funny!

Today, we want to introduce the Red Apple too, meet it at the end of the post.

Body time!

[CAT] Aquesta setmana, hem dit adéu a la meravellossa carbassa per endinsar-nos en el coneixement del nostre cos.

Per això, hem conegut una simpàtica poma vermella que ens explica on tenim el nostre nas o els nostres dos ulls. A més a més, estem aprenen una nova cançó amb la que podem assenyalar les parts del nostre cos.

[ENG] This week, we have said goodbye to the wonderful pumpkin in order to learn the parts of our body.

For this reason, we have known a nice and a red apple who taught us where we have our nose or our two eyes. Besides, we are learning a new song that let us point at the parts of our body.

Els beneficis d'aprendre idiomes

[CAT] Després d'un mes d'haver començat la nova rutina amb l'anglès, us fem arribar els beneficis que comporta l'aprenentatge de diverses llengües.

Feu una ullada, també, al vídeo de sota: podeu veure els Súpers ballant i cantant en una de les nostres sessions. És fantàstic!

[ENG] After one month we have begun a new routine including English in it, we would like to show you the benefits of learning different languages.

Els beneficis d'aprendre idiomes

Segons un informe elaborat per l'Estat Europeu de Competència Lingüística, el 63% dels infants no entenen l'anglès al finalitzar l'Educació Secundària. I és una llàstima perquè dominar dos o més idiomes té un sense fi de beneficis.

1. Exercita la memòria i l'atenció: durant els primers anys de vida, el cerbell està ens constant formació. El repte que suposa aprendre un nou idioma, estimularà encara més el número de connexions neuronals.

2. Augmenta la capacitat per a resoldre problemes: s'ha desmostrat que els infants que parlen més d'un idioma tenen major facilitat per resoldre problemes matemàtics.

3. Estimula la capacitat de concentració: són, a més a més, infants més capaços de focalitzar la seva atenció en el què estan fent (llegir, estudiar, experimentar...) sense distreure's per altres estímuls exteriors.

4. Afavoreix el pensament reflexiu: pensar en un altre idioma els ajuda a valorar les qüestions vitals amb major objectivitat i prendre decisions menys dependents de les emocions.

Knock Knock ... trick or treat?

[CAT] Aquesta setmana ens hem endinsat més en el món del Halloween. És una festivitat tradicional, en la que els nens es disfressen per l'ocasió, per anar de casa en casa demanant caramels fent la típica pregunta "trick or treat ?" a qui obri la porta. Es tracta de fer una broma al propietari si no dóna cap regal.
Per fer-ho tot més especial, hem projectat una petita història, en la que hem conegut un fantasma, un cowboy, una bruixa, un monstre, una ballarina i un pirata.

Gaudiu-la també amb els vostres fills i filles!

Knock Knock ... Trick or Treat? Halloween Song

[ENG] This week all together we learnt more things about Halloween. It is a traditional celebration where children  dress up in costumes , in order to knock every door playing trick or treat to get some sweets. The tradition allows the children to make jokes to the owners of the houses if they don't give to the children a little present like sweets.
We have seen a short story about this day, that let us meet a ghost, a cowboy, a witch, a monster, a ballerina and a pirate celebrating Halloween.

Knock Knock ... Trick or Treat? Halloween Song

Our weeks...

[CAT] La tardor, la castanyada, el Halloween i tot el que rodeja aquestes tres paraules és el que estem treballant a les hores d’anglès d'aquesta setmana.

Amb l’ajuda d’una nova amiga, una simpàtica carbassa, a les sessions aprenem moltes coses noves relaciones amb la tardor i la castanyada. Amb moltes fotografies i dibuixos parlem sobre els cargols, les castanyes, les fulles que cauen dels arbres i el temps canviant de tardor.

[ENG] Autumn, “castanyada”, Halloween and all that surrounds these three words is what we are working in our English time these weeks.

We have met a new friend, a very  nice pumpkin who taught us a lot of new things related to autumn. It brought us a lot of drawings and pictures and, thanks to them, we can speak about snails, chestnuts, leaves that fall off the trees and the changeable autumn wheather.

[CAT] L’octubre ja és aquí i això significa que comencem amb aquest nou projecte. Amb l'esforç de totes i cadascuna de nosaltres i la vostra confiança ens convertim en un centre bilingüe català-anglès.

Parlant amb anglès i explicant contes, coneixerem històries i personatges que ens ensenyaran valors.
A través de diverses cançons, aprendrem anglès cantant i ballant i evidentment... passarem una bona estona!

October is here and this means we start this new project. With our effort and your confidence La Mainada becomes a Catalan-English centre.

Speaking in English and explaining tales, we will discover stories and meet characters who let us learn values.

Singing and dancing different songs we will learn English and obviously.... all together we will have a good time.
